DREAMer Kites (2012) was a public art project with undocumented youth activists and allies from New York and Washington, D.C. that engaged kites as symbols of flying and freedom.
Each participant created a large-scale handmade kite with a life-sized self-portrait. In the culminating event, participants flew their kites on the National Mall, lifitng images of undocumented youth into the skies above the nation's capital in an effort to raise awareness and support for the DREAM Act and comprehensive immigration reform.
